I grew up in a small village, in Eastern Europe, a place full of hard-working people whose main occupation was to keep the land fertile. But I was lucky enough to be raised by my grandfather, a man whose passions were incompatible with the community we were living in. So, I grew up with stories from all over the world, with literature and with art. I knew who Brancusi was before kids my age knew how to tie their shoes.
I learned about Michelangelo, Leonardo Da Vinci and Gaudí without even dreaming about actually seeing their work. This is why, when I began planning my first trip to Barcelona, I wasn’t thinking about tapas and Sangria, but imagining myself exploring Spain’s art capital like a hunter, a hunter whose prey was represented by works of art signed by the best artists.
